Individual Counseling & Support Groups

*Please Note:  Our counseling services are offered as part of our oncology program so all counseling services are for persons who are having cancer-related issues and are for those with a cancer diagnosis or their caregiver or family.

Individual Counseling

Our clinical counselor is available to meet with you individually to discuss cancer-related issues.  She practices from the Illlinois CancerCare office on Route 91.  Call Kitty Bienemann, Counselor, at (309) 243-3461 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

 Support Groups

Our support groups bring people with similar diagnoses together to share experiences, exchange information and build a network of support. They are open to anyone who is affected by or knows someone affected by cancer and are available FREE of charge.

Weekly Support Groups

We offer weekly informal gatherings of cancer survivors and their caregivers, discussing the issues and concerns that arise from a cancer diagnosis and its impact on daily life. Two support groups are offered each week. The first is held on Wednesdays at 1pm at the Hult Center on Knoxville and focuses on multiple myeloma and blood cancers, although all cancer types are welcome.  The second is held on Thursdays at 3:30pm at the UnityPoint Health-Methodist Atrium ABC Room and focuses on gynecological cancers.  Call Kitty Bienemann, Counselor, at (309) 243-3461 if you plan to attend or for more information.
