Extremism in Youth: The Rise of Nihilistic Violent Extremism
Hult Center for Healthy Living 5215 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, United StatesSpecial Agent Jake Griffin, from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will be providing a free educational opportunity on Extremism in Youth: The Rise of Nihilistic Violent Extremism. "Nihilistic Violent Extremism” (NVE) is a Global threat impacting the United States, including both rural and urban Illinois. NVE groups focus recruitment efforts on children and teenagers through online platforms, using certain recruitment methods to introduce them to their ideology with a focus on radicalizing and eventually mobilizing them to violence. Strongly recommended that children DO NOT attend due to the very adult themes discussed. This information is best received by a parent, guardian, or community member and then disseminated to children and teens in the way they best see fit.
