Treat Me Right is a campaign for healthcare providers and their patients that highlights the value of building a trusting relationship with your healthcare provider, and empowering people to know what they can do to stay healthy.
April is STI Awareness Month. STIs, or Sexually Transmitted Infections, are infections that can be passed from one person to another during sexual activity. Usually when a person becomes infected, they do not know they are infected; many STIs are asymptomatic. This is a major reason that the Hult Center promotes Getting Yourself Tested.
Peoria County ranks among the highest in our state for rates of sexually transmitted infections like Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, especially for young people age 15-24. Hult Center is working to reduce these rates by empowering our community to GET TESTED!
